Today, I went out for a hack on my horse, Billy. We went with a lovely young girl – Seren – who keeps her horse on the same yard, and it was all tonnes of fun in the sunshine.
Seren is an eventer. At just fourteen years old, she takes part in all kinds of scary things – showjumping, cross country, endurance riding, etc. (Things I’d NEVER be brave enough to do).
I asked her how she managed to be so brave. And this is what she told me:
“I’m not brave. I just have faith in my horse”.
This really struck a chord with me.
Businesses – like horses – are wild animals. As much as you try, you can’t really predict what’s going to happen next.
The good news is: you don’t have to be brave. You just have to have faith.
When there’s uncertainty around you, have faith in what you’ve built. Have faith in what it stands for. Have faith in your mission. Have faith in the journey ahead. Have faith in the fact that you’re on the path you’re on for a reason.
It’s ok to be anxious. Just saddle up, look ahead, and have faith that all is well.
